New Crochet Granny Triangle Shawl

I have a weakness for shawls... "I feel pretty, Oh so pretty!" when I wear a shawl, and I like the warmth, too.  Yes, even though I live on an island in the Caribbean, I get cold when the temperature dips down to 75ºF.

I finished my shawl today, by trimming the fringe, something I really really like.  Any jokes about "lunatic fringe, Dave, and I won't "be good" this weekend, I'll tease you unmercifully, no matter what FB says.  You are forewarned!  haha!

Beholdeth, pictures of my shawl, as requested and modeled by DD.

Daughter again modeling the shawl. By the way, she is a woman's size extra small.

I made it with Carons Simply Soft, Colonial blue, if I'm not mistaken.  It is really prettier than how it's showing up here in this late afternoon light.

And here is the fringe.  I make an almost perfect fringe.  I am finicky about it, since I like it so much.  I like it nice and neat, and will redo it several times if I have to.  I used to have instructions for making "the perfect fringe" on the net; not that it exists... *smile*  Until I post it again, a tip for a good fringe is to pull quickly and evenly and it should fall into place as it should, and not with strands all criss-crossed.

Thanks for looking at my shawl.  Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi there River Glorious! What a beautiful shawl! The fringe is perfect too. I love shawls too but I dont have any crocheted ones. Just looking at this one makes me want to get a crochet hook and some yarn and start! I haven't crocheted in 20 years! For that matter I haven't sewn either. Somehow the business of life has taken away those two pasttimes of mine. Enjoy and keep warm!

Hello there, Anna Renee. I now have 3, 2 made by myself and one made by a crochet friend, Rosalind T, from the States. If you want to get back into crocheting, I'll enable you, haha!!

What a magnificent shawl! Do you sell your patterns?

Hello again. Mary, Thata, thanks for all the kind comments.

Estela, if you really want a shawl, I'll make you one next year. Mother-in-law is first.

Anonymous, no, I don't sell my patterns, nor permit them to be sold. If you want to make a granny triangle shawl, check the side bar here to your right and you'll find the pattern for a plain granny shawl. If you want one like mine, or similar, then wait a bit, since I am going to write out the modifications. It's only a mesh row or two, but I had trouble since shawl got bogged out of shape, so had to experiment.

Again, thank you all for looking at my pictures.

Enid,
Just beautiful! I can't wait for you to write out the pattern. I'd love to make one of these for myself.
Hugs,

Wow, I just love it!!! How much wool did you use? If I used your granny triangle pattern, how would I figure out how much wool to buy to make a shawl for myself?

Hi, Sue! Thanks for peeking in.

I've been swamped by work, so have not finished writing out the directions. If you use the granny triangle pattern I have on the side bar, it would simply be the granny triangle shawl, with no mesh to break up the granny pattern going on. I've been working on the instructions and will finish up soon, if you care to wait a bit.
