These Have Been Saved for Mankind

"The right of every human being to live in dignity and freedom, the right to worship God in his own way, the right to fix his own relationship to his fellow men and to his Creator — these again have been saved for mankind … Now that we have preserved our freedom of conscience and religion, our fight to live by a decent moral and spiritual code of our own choosing, let us make full use of that freedom. … The spiritual welfare of our people of tomorrow is going to depend on the kind of home life which our nation has today, for home life reflects the nation's life."
Harry S. Truman, addressing the Conference of the Federal Council of Churches, March 6, 1946

Although I am not a great fan of Harry S Truman, I do add an "amen" to these words. :)
