Well, if you want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, here it is. This is not an endorsement of the republican party. I'm an independent voter. This is just a matter of the truth.

My beautiful niece
My beautiful niece died last week. Since her mom and dad broke up
about 3 years ago, I've been mothering her. The cancer, only 5 in the
WORLD had it, now 4, was too aggressive. She, who had never wanted
anything from me crocheted said, Auntie, you promised me a bblanket.
I know she never did, but figurred out the chemo meds and pain meds made her brain mushy. So I said, what color? "Purple! I like anything purple." "Purple it is!"
I went to Walmart that evening, got badly CORNtaminated, sent her pictures of the yarn, she chose a bright purple and multicolors that matched and I started to crochet. Next day, Sunday, I got a really bad case of high heart pulse. I asked her, "Lines or waves?"
"Waves! and purple!" "Yes, sweetie, purple."
And after the 2nd or 3rd row, I knew she would never see it in person. And so it happened. Every time I sent her a picture, asking if she wanted me to change color, it was always "More purple!"
"Yes, more purple, my little darling."
My twin came last week from the States. She really couldn't afford this trip, but she said she felt an urgency to come and share the Gospel with Nazira and her mom. And she did. Arrived Wednesday afternoon, saw her Thursday evening, Thursday night Nazzie asked for a Bible, and at midnight she fell asleep and left us.
My brother, Joe, wants me to finish the blanket. He wants to place it over her bed, in her little bedroom.
And I will.
More purple! Yes, my little darling, "more purple". Anything for you. Even though you're gone, "more purple".
Thanks for "listening"

Everybody is talking about Ravelry
Yeah, Ravelry is in the news. I've read a lot of what's happening and I have a few thoughts on the matters.
1. Ravelry is not a public corporation, it's private.
2. Ravelry "seems" to be leaning to The Left. Let's be clear, not democrats, but The Left. That's different.
3. Ravelry should stick to yarn projects and not permit politics. It's more than I want or care to handle, and I am not in agreement with their beliefs, therefore it IS my prerogative to leave a group that I find disrespectful or hostile to my classic beliefs.
4. I'm happy not being a part of that group. If you stay with Ravelry, that's fine with me, we're still friends or friendly, I have no problem with that.
I hope Ravelry continues to prosper, and hope that they reconsider being mixed up with politics and such.
God's abundant blessings to all of you. ✟✟✟

John 3: 10-21
10 Jesus answered and said to him, “You are the teacher of Israel, and
you don’t know these things? 11 Amen, amen, I am saying to you that we are
speaking what we have known and we are testifying what we have seen, and
you are not receiving our testimony. 12 If I said to you the earthly things
and you aren’t believing, how will you believe if I should say to you the
heavenly things? 13 And no one has ascended into heaven except the One
having descended out of heaven: the Son of Man, Who is in heaven. 14 And
just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so it is necessary for
the Son of Man to be lifted up, 15 so that everyone believing in Him shouldn’t
perish, but should be having eternal life. 16 For God was thus devoted to the
world: that He gave His unique Son, so that everyone believing in Him
shouldn’t perish, but should be having eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send His
Son into the world so that He might be judging the world, but so that the
world might be saved through Him. 18 The one believing in Him isn’t being
judged, but the one not believing has been judged already, because he hasn’t
believed in the name of the unique Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment:
that the light has come into the world, and men were more devoted to the
darkness than to the light, for their works were evil. 20 For everyone
practicing wickedness hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, so that his works might not be rebuked. 21 But the one doing the truth comes to the
light so that his works may be manifested, that they are worked in God.

Still working on ponchos
Crocheting whenever I can or feel like it. One for Nadia N.
She chose the colors from Red Heart yarn. Come to think of it, she usually wears darker colors. And she wants it longer than Natasha's poncho. No picture of Natasha in hers. Maybe one of these days she'll send me one.

Why All the Hate?
Do you wonder, "Why all the hate?"
I do.
People are not speaking to each other because of a preference. Or a political party. Or their values. I really really don't get it. Why? If you like purple, and I prefer yellow, is that a reason why I should quit speaking to you? Anybody who likes purple is hateful, is crazy, shouldn't be allowed to vote, to speak, to live.
Yes, that's how ridiculous it is. Just because I may be a democrat, and you a republican, should we stop speaking to each other? Yellow and purple.
Because you think a wall should be built, and I don't agree, I should quit speaking to you? Yellow and purple.
How about if you prefer blueberries and I like apples? Should we stop speaking? Yellow and purple.
What if I think abortion is wrong and you think it's moral. Do we stop speaking? We stop being neighbors? Does that mean I don't have a right to have a voice in this country? Should YOUR voice be silenced by whatever means, just because we don't agree? Whatever happened to "agreeing to disagree"? Or is it now, you don't agree with me, so you don't have the right to speak. Or vote? Or live.
Yellow and purple.
Whoever the president is, he or she is our president. Let's respect the OFFICE of the presidency. Let's respect our legislators, let's respect our senators. They are people, they are human beings. I think that lots of people who are criminals are getting more respect than a lot of people in our country who haven't broken any laws.
And let's pray for our leaders. They need our prayers, they need our intercession every day. And let's remember the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would have them treat you.
Or else it will all come down to yellow and purple. And don't think that because you're purple that things will go well with you. If things continue, none of us will have any freedom of expression, neither the yellows nor the purples, because, in the end, when there is social chaos, such as the kind that has been engineered in the United States of America for the past decades, the government will step in even more than it already has and will tell you what you're allowed to think, while it takes your hard-earned money to pay for programs we really don't need. But then that's another story.
It's time we think, really think things out. Do we let someone get away with things because they, too, like purple, but if the yellows do it, cry "Bloody murder!" and "Off with their heads!"? The government is trying to tell us what to think, the media is trying to tell us what to think. Are you going with the flow because it's easier, or will you stop and say, "Hey! Something's rotten here!" and calmly make your own decisions?
Just remember, Yellow and Purple.

More Mindless Crochet
Using Lion Brand Ice Cream, I think it's called.
Still no new clients. I do have one, but he has to finish a history book, and I have to do the 2nd proofreading, not the 1st. That means nothing for about 3 months. I'm happy just resting, taking care of Mom, and throwing out stuff that I will never use, even though they were very important a few years ago. I think that I can't do that to my kids, if I leave them a messy accumulation of 30 years of junk to them, precious to me.
This blankie is not for anybody in particular. In fact, I think I started it last year, while Hurricane Irma was hitting the Island, but it didn't do much damage in my town, thanks be to the Lord.
Catch you all later. Blessings from our Lord Jesus Christ!

I worked 10 years for a Fee-for-Service social worker, therefore, I can offer any social worker or visiting nurse the following services:
1. Receive and acknowledge case faxes.
2. Transfer individual case information to an email with a preliminary report template (individual's information and demographics filled in).
3. Prepare a weekly general Patient/Client List with the info from #2 by area. This list will be ready by Friday at 3 PM.
4. Proofread your reports and send to you for approval.
5. Fax your reports to the company.
6. Prepare a list of the reports faxed and send it to you and the referring company.
7. Prepare your invoice for the referring company.
You only have to make the visit and prepare the actual report, no worries about proofreading and tedious lists.
Able to use Word, Excel, Bilingual (English and Spanish).

No Clients, But Happy!
I no longer have a client, and yet, I’m very happy. I was saddened until I saw that the client changed their password. And suddenly, I’m free! No heaviness in my heart, no cold politeness. I hope my next client or clients are simply nice people. I pray the Lord will direct my paths as it says in Proverbs.
Just happy and content.

2 thumbs down for The Voice’s Sarah Grace
Singing Amazing Grace to the tune of House of the rising sun? Terrible terrible terrible. She took the most beautiful hymn and threw mud on it. A hymn of light and glorifying of the Lord, she made dark. Two thumbs down. That’s just my opinion

No peace from the wicked
The things coming out of some people is frightening:
Some people believe in free speech as long as you agree with them? And if not, you deserve to die? That is NOT the foundation of our nation. A nation without God is a nation of savagery.

Hurricane Maria... One Year After
Today it's been one year since H. Maria and we've still not
recovered. How can we recover? There are so many tiny details that no
one can cover and no one can make right again. Especially the horror we
experienced and the suffering of so many. But we survived.
Lots of houses looked like they were sandblasted, and I'm not talking
only about the houses close to the sea. Son #1 worked for Hotel La Concha,
had to work during the hurricane and the sea surge was horrifying, flooding the lower hotel rooms and basement, he
feared for his life. The windows were blown out and they had to be moved
to another part of the hotel. The hotel's back-up generators failed. Our own generator malfunctioned and to this day is no good. We had to get a new one, and it arrived AFTER we had power again.
The trees had no leaves. It sounds weird to say that, but it means no flowers, so no crops, the coffee, banana and plantain crops were destroyed. Broccoli, lettuce, fruits, etc. Well, most anybody's crop was ruined. The heat was despairing. No leaves = no shade. And yet, we couldn't leave the windows open because one of the neighbors had an old diesel power generator that spewed awful fumes into our house. There was nothing we could do about it.
I almost lost my car, the water on the street kept rising and went halfway up the car, no safe food for me, trying to make it through another day in the heat with either no or either tiny battery fans. Trying to make food for my family that was palatable. Washing clothes by hand, towels, mom's soiled clothing and soiled bed clothing. Some people still don't have electricity and water. I live in the metro area. We got electricity some time around November. We sent water and food and clothes and supplies to family in the mountains. We knew God would provide for us and He did. Many lost their homes, but nobody will/can help. I can't really describe the horror of such a hurricane, the Island has never been the same. For all that people criticize PR, we have contributed many many soldiers to US wars since 1917 and now, with this hurricane, many many of our professionals have left: nurses, teachers, doctors, electronics specialists, skilled labor. They went to the States to find jobs and the island is now suffering that loss, too.
The mess about deaths... well, doctors wrote what the people were dying from, and didn't include "as an indirect result of the hurricane" so that death doesn't count. Like a heart attack and the patient dying a week later. Or someone who died two months later, but it all started September 20, 2017.

Attached
is the dust cloud that came yesterday from the Sahara Desert. I got it from a site on the net, will put the link as soon as I find it. The sky
looks gray all around, no blue in sight, and yet there are no rain
clouds. Ick. I'm going to run the air conditioner in the living room
tonight so they doggies won't feel choked and the house will be cleaner.
It's a fine dust, like cement dust. As to me, I wait on the Lord... O Lord, in the morning, will I direct my prayer unto you and will look up. Amen.
1 Samuel 7:12
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.UPDATE: MORE HURRICANE MARIA PHOTOS

Eddie and the hutch
Ever since Eddie bought a new table and matching chairs, the old hutch didn't match, in fact, it looked dreadfully and irrevocably out of place. Eddie was going to throw it away, but he saw that it was only the sides that were water-damaged. So, he took it apart and bought wood, prepped it, and cut and made it into a beautiful new hutch and buffet, that all match because of the color. It matches the chairs now... I'm so happy. Many blessings, even in an old dining room set.

Amanda in her crochet sweater
Okay, don't know how to blur, but here she is. :)
I think she buttoned it up herself, and of course, she always has to wear her tutu. :) Thanks for looking.

Finished Sweater!
Done done and done. I made a loom knitted hat, but don't know how to blur my granddaughter's face, so until I learn, this is it. Crocheted with the Red Heart pattern, but lengthened the sleeves and did NOT make the ugly crochet ribbing. I prefer this one.

The Liberty of Worshiping Almighty God
"The
liberty enjoyed by the people of these states of worshiping Almighty
God agreeably to their conscience, is not only among the choicest of
