Blaise Pascal and His Triangle

So, I'm trying to figure out Pascal's Triangle. I don't seem to get it today, maybe because I'm sick. If you want to read about this French scientist who contributed so much to math and science back in the 1600's, read this good article about him:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v20/i1/scientist.asp

and here's his triangle. Check out the article for the explanation of probabilities:

Science is fascinating. The more I study and learn, the more I believe in God and His son, Jesus Christ. Science does not disprove God anymore than my crochet shawl disproves that I exist. After all, I created it! :D

Found a Crochet Blog!

So, this lady is hosting a baby hoodie crochet-along over at Craft Stylish and I passed it along to friends at multiply.com and Crochet Partners. Now I found her blog, quite by mistake, but it was a nice mistake. Take a look at her blog and this picture you see Up There is a photo of her finished baby hoodie.

Isn't it just cute! :)

Here's the link to her blog:

Crochet Key Chain for Mom

This is the keychain Mom saw me with and she said to buy her one. She goes to church at night and doesn't take her car, someone comes and picks her up, so she doesn't really need her purse. And, some of her pants don't have pockets. I'm not going to tell her I can't afford to buy her one lousy little keychain like this blue one, so I went and found some Omega rayon thread and single crocheted six stitch rows until I made this key holder for her:

It's too tight around the ring, so I have to undo the stitches there and make it loose. Still, I think she's going to like THIS crocheted item... :)

Crocheted Super Mario Brothers Bomb

I don't play the game, so I have no sane idea what it's about, but I saw a little bomb on the net and made a similar one. I don't remember where I saw it. Just do a search for Super Mario Brothers, or Mario Brothers and you should find it somewhere in a blog or on Flickr.com

So, this little guy is for my 15 year old son, who like video games. I put it on a keychain hook so he can put it on his backpack. Hope it doesn't get stolen!

Yarn Worms!!!

It's a crochet definition that I came up with. Yarn Worms!

Here's what they look like:

They are pesky creatures, aren't they? Do you have any? They appear after you finish your piece and weave in the ends. Some of them are useful, since you can use the different colors to mark a stitch or tie together a piece before stitching it together. Many of them escape and get on desks, couches, rugs. Some even cling to your clothes. Yarn Worms... If you're a crocheter, or a knitter, or a crafter, they live in YOUR house!testing

The Economy

What we REALLY need to do is:

1- Quit spending money we don't have (credit cards and loans)

2- Save 3-6 months worth of salary in case of emergencies

3- Vote out people who are legislating "tax stimulus" packages. Just WHERE do you think that money is coming from? It's either from the taxpayer, in other words, YOU! Either that, or they will just print more money. Know what happens when the government prints more money? I do: inflation. Prices go up up up, while your salary stays the same.

4- Downgrade. You don't need that new car. Overhaul and fix your current one. You don't need new clothes. Fashions are an illusion. Just buy what you REALLY need. You also don't need that large house or apartment. You *can* downgrade.

5- Put some, not all, extra money in treasury bonds, or something equally secure. I know, it's the government, but it's more secure than, say, Wall Street?

6- Don't buy on impulse. Plan what you need, then make a list and buy according to your list. Eat a snack before you buy groceries. You don't need a new purse, and no, honey, you don't need a new saw, either.

7- Finally, make a plan and stick to it as much as possible. Start getting out of debt, you deserve financial freedom! See what your expenses are, and compare it to your income. Find out where the hole is, and try and see how it can be fixed. If you need to get a second job for a while, go ahead. There are many part time jobs available.

And yes, I did write these out all by myself. I'm not a politician, nor a speaker, but I DO think things out. I think that if we become more savers and less spenders, then we, as a nation, will become great again, truly great.

God bless you!

Worth More

"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education."

President Theodore Roosevelt

Mom's Crochet Washcloth

Another item I gave her and she does not use. I think she believes it's too pretty to use... I don't know where I got the pattern from. I made this in 1997, I think.

Crochet Baby Booties Almost Ready to Ship Out

I just have to weave in the ends of the second baby bootie, and then buy the flowers and ribbon. I don't sew, so I'll just send them to the expectant mother. Sewing is too hard for me, which is strange for some people to believe, but it's true. Just because I can crochet does not mean I can sew. And just because someone can sew, does not mean they can crochet. If you look at it THAT way, then maybe you can understand.

When you sew, you are using cloth, material, that's already been created. When you crochet, you are using a fiber to create, either a cloth, or an article directly.

I'll be buying purple flowers and ribbon. Perhaps the mommy will take a picture of the finished object. :) :) :)

I Used to Homeschool

...so I can really appreciate this... I liked it, haha! And yes, they get socialized and take class. And probably learn a lot, too. Both my boys think they are on vacation, now that they are in regular school. My youngest complains he hasn't learned anything this year, except for history. Anyway, enjoy the video!

Can Anybody Spot the Mistake?

Nooo, it's not the dress nor the model. You have to read the article to find the mistake...

:D :D :D

P.S.
