Trying to Make This Sweater

I'm trying to make this sweater and having trouble with the sleeves:

So far I have this:

I don't know if I messed up and should have made it wider, or if I should attach at the yellow arrow and let the sleeve "rest" and sew the sleeve starting at the arrow and through to the wrist?

If this makes ANY sense to you and you have any suggestions, please enter it in the comment area. This is an old pattern with a new name, I don't remember the old name. Anyway, it's not a new pattern. Thanks for reading this.

The edge of the sleeve should start at the edge of the side of the body. If you've ever sewn a garment in fabric it's the same way.
That little piece sticking out on the body is basically the bottom of the armhole.

Amber; Take a deep breath, now, attach the sleeve from wrist to top first, then attach the seam of the sleeve to the point that you have indicated with your note, that is the edge of the armhole, and fold the sleeve in half so that you have the exact top of the sleeve in your hand, pin it to the shoulder seam of the sweater and then sew from the sleeve seam around the whole sleeve pulling it just a little to fit all around to the beginning of
where you started at the sleeve seam start . Hope this helps, it not, "e" me at
and I will be more than happy to help you with pictures. ;-) Warmly, Anne

Hi! Have you figured it out? It's a pretty standard construction to keep bulk from occurring at the underarm. First, with right sides together, sew/crochet the shoulder seams together of front/back. Place a marker two rows from the top of the arm piece on each side. With right sides together, match that marker to the end "tab" of the sweater body. Sew/crochet that short piece, then "twist" to match the long part of the sleeve top with the long part of the front/back and sew/crochet that part together. When you get to the end, "twist" again to match that small "tab" at the side of the front/back with the two rows on the side of the sleeve to the marker.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It was so nice to see you.

I hope you had a great Christmas. Happy New Year!

Hugs from Cincinnati,
Lois
