They are made by Diane Wilson, who crochets wonderful items in miniature, she's an artist! They are so darling I dubbed them "Elf Doilies" because they must have been made with special thread.
But this dress and hat are so cute I call them the Faerie Dress and the Faerie Bonnet.
Actually, instead of the usual size 10 or 20 thread for a doily, she uses size 80 (correction from previously posting it was size 40) or sewing thread. She makes a coaster pattern which can be used as a delicate doily for a doll house, and yes, to 1/12 scale.
She sells her lovely doilies here: Diane's Dainty Doilies

Oh, how sweet they are! I can't imagine how it's possible to crochet with a sewing thread. Incredible!
Neither can I, but she does it, time and again. :)
Maybe I can persuade her to make a matching dress for the doll house mother...
Thanks for peeking in!
How very sweet! I just went to her Etsy Shop and "favorited" one of her items in my Etsy shop. Hopefully, that will give her some traffic.
Everything is so beautiful and the work is just amazing! Very very pretty! Thank you for sharing this with us.
i couldn't even think about crocheting something that small!! i don't think my fingers could handle it!
Lois, you're a dear! Thanks!
SummmDay and Caroline, you are so right, and she keeps on making them. I'm convinced she has a secret stash of elvish thread or a source for faerie cob webs or something. I don't know how she can *see* to make these things.
I tried once, but that was it.
Just adorable!
I know, I know! That's why I take care of them so much, they're heirlooms!
