This is the last round of a crochet baby afghan I am almost done with, from this book:
This is second time I make this pattern, and I modified it, to not have so many shells on the last rounds so that it won't ruffle as much. If I were to make it again, I would modify it still more: I would make some double crochets instead of shells and make it ruffle still less. I don't like the idea of blocking acrylic yarn, since there is no way to make it shrink- it's make in the round, and not blocks which can be stretched.
It's by Needlecraft, leaflet #921804; "Crochet Special Moments Baby Layette", copyright 1992. Designed by Sue Childress.

It's very, very pretty. It would be gorgeous for a Christening or Naming ceremony.

It looks fantastic! I love finding old patterns & reworking them into todays colours!
