Last Night...

Last night a wonderful perfume floating in from the back garden... It's from a bush we call Café de la India.  My little grandmother had a bush like this in her front yard, and every summer it would bloom and the delicious smell would permeate the whole house.

I am a little allergic to this, but I can't cut this bush down, not when I have such wonderful memories attached to its perfume.  This morning I took a picture of some of the small flowers... A neighbor says it smells a little like gardenia.

Thank you for reading this.

How sweet that it reminds you of your Mother. It's a lovely story.

I get the same feelings when I am working around the iris in the garden. I'm traveling now, but left rows of beautiful iris ready to come into full bloom on each side of my front walk. Some had bloomed, but the big iris show will be in another three days or so.

I forgot to do something about my irises, oh my. The jungle grass is probably killing it. Thanks for reading, Lois, and be safe and God bless you.
